Salim Muwakkil's column, "Biased Coverage Prolongs Conflict" on April 23,
2001 is right on target. In attempting to educate people about the truth of
the Israeli/Palestinian conflict I also advocate that people look outside the
U.S. media. I find it curious that within Israel there is much more realistic
and accurate coverage than there is here. We are complicit in perpetuating
the misinformation which leads to a distortion of the human rights abuses and
violations of international law occuring every day. As an American Jew
trying to find the truth and to speak out against the military occupation I
would like to see more truth telling here.
