There is a long history of Jews protesting against injustice, whether visited upon a Jew or inflicted by a Jew.
It has been particularly challenging for Jews to criticize the State of Israel, but we feel that such criticism is not only warranted, but constitutes important, moral action.
We do not believe that the conflict is a religious one, so we do not believe that the fact that we are Jews should in any way prevent or discourage us from working with Palestinians, whether they are Muslim or Christian, religious or secular.
Not In My Name was formed as a loose gathering of concerned Jews and is now gaining momentum as a national network.
There is an active Not In My Name group in Chicago and Jews in other cities around the United States are coming together under this "banner."
