Chicago Jews Welcome Arab Journalists

Not In My Name (NIMN) is a predominantly Jewish organization based in Chicago.  We will be holding our regular Sunday vigil from Noon to 1:00pm on August 25, 2020 in the park on Michigan Avenue at Pearson (830 N Michigan).  These weekly vigils, which are now in their fifteenth month, are held in order to be a consistent, visible appeal for peace and justice for Palestinians and Israelis.  "The Occupation is where the violence starts," said Joel Finkel, member of the NIMN Steering Committee.  "Our members may have many different views on many different things, but we all agree that the Occupation must end before either Israelis or Palestinians can even begin to think about building a safe, productive, and healthy future."

This week, NIMN is pleased to welcome Arab journalists to our vigil.  Sponsored by the State Department's Foreign Press Center, journalists from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Yemen, the Palestinian Authority, and Tunisia are expected to be present.  We thank Patricia Sullivan, the Manager of the International Press Center of the City's Department of Cultural Affairs, for arranging their visit to our vigil.
